The clip below has five segments drawn from Raja’s work over the past 5 decades.
- The first segment is from the song Oho Laila from the film Chaitanya (Telugu 1991). The call is a long one from the trumpet and the response is equally long from the guitar
- The second segment is from the song Rum Bum Bum from the film Michael Madana Kamarajan (Tamil 1991). For the short trumpet calls, you get longer guitar responses. Very beautifully arranged work
- The third segment is from the song Sevvaname Pon megahame from the film Nalladoru Kudumbam (Tamil 1979). The rapid drumming accompanied trumpet call is responded by the guitar with an equal rapid pace
- The fourth segment is from the song Vaa Vaa Vaa Kanna Vaa from the film Velaikaran (Tamil 1987). The call is from the trumpet and the response is the exact same melody played by the guitar. This is very unusual in Raja’s orchestration
- The fifth segment is from the song Siriya Paravai from the film Antha Oru Nimidam (Tamil 1985). The call is from the trumpet and the response is from the violins. The violins add to the grandeur of the composition
